Isaiah 33:5-6 (GNT)
[5]How great the Lord is! He rules over everything. He will fill Jerusalem with justice and integrity
[6]and give stability to the nation. He always protects his people and gives them wisdom and knowledge. Their greatest treasure is their reverence for the Lord.
I like that it says that the greatest treasure is the fear of the Lord; to have respect, reverence, acknowledgment, and understanding that there is a God. Unfortunately in this world, they have no respect for God. They just don’t, and it’s really scary because in this particular chapter it talks about that. How when a nation goes wayward and has no respect for God and His reverence, He gets a bit upset. Let’s call on Him, pray in unity, know and have faith to believe to move the hand of God to have mercy. For Him to not take His hand away from this nation, but keep His hand upon it. So that as a church, we can see the coming of the Lord and not be moved. Let us remember that the gates of hell will not prevail against His church. This is where the power of God is, we believe God and have a great respect for who He is.
Today we read: Ecclesiastes 8-10, Psalm 91
